“You too can be a millionaire!” Says the hype machine at the front of the room that flew in from out of town and is holding the latest lotion, potion, gadget or bill-saving product…but is that really the case? Let’s break down the circumstances that absolutely prevent this from happening and the circumstances that MAY actually cause this to occur.
You know you won’t make a million if…
- All of your friend and neighbors are already in it and you were the final person to give in and say yes, this is also known as the musical chair syndrome where the music has been winding down, winding down, and when it comes time for you to take your turn to make money, the chairs are already spoken for.
- There is a team in your area with proven leaders and you decide to sign with your best friend that lives hours away because they asked you first or out of loyalty. Don’t be guilted into making the wrong choice with sponsorship. Not only will you end up despising your friend for your own stupidity but you will also run into a local team kicking butt that doesn’t want you at their meetings because you are not in the team. I personally allow anyone into my meetings but that is not the case with most.
- You join a company just to jump online to see how quickly you can prove that the product is over-priced or not the right type of product. Lettuce in a bag is much more expensive than a head of lettuce but it doesn’t make bagged lettuce a scam. Too often people have the mantra of finding the fault like there is a reward for it.
- If you are a quitter. I have met people who have made hundreds of thousands of dollars in mlm business opportunity network marketing companies but took them 6 months to get their first person. This is a marathon not a sprint.
- If you are distributor number 900,523 and everyone in your area has already heard of it. Now, I clarify this one as if you are the millionth rep and no one around you has ever heard of it, there is a chance you will do well, not likely to make a million but possible.
- Your product right out of the gate has 50,000 competitors. If you constantly have to launch into why your product is better than X, Y, and Z, you can get frustrated with always having to fight that battle
You MIGHT make a million if…
- You are into a company early. If you get into a GOOD company, perhaps in the first 10,000 of people there is a nice chance for you to make serious money. This does NOT include the current trend of companies to offer a free pre-launch signup. This is one of the biggest scams on the Internet as they are simply lead building. You will not make money in a MLM business opportunity network marketing company if you have never put money into it. That should make sense if you understand network marketing at all.
- Your product is tangible. I do not MLM companies that offer a discount on shopping, a simple website or an intangible as ever having the real possibility of longevity. Electronic methods of income are so easily duplicatable, it just doesn’t make sense.
- Your product has a first movers advantage. This means your company is the FIRST to do it. The first to have their product in a network marketing model. These MLM business opportunity models are hard to find as so many network marketing companies exist but they are out there.
- You understand that when talking to people about network marketing that not only will you get objections and rejections but also opinions. You will hear the country bumpkins of the world call it a pyramid scheme even though network marketing is a 100 billion dollar industry. You have to have tough skin to win.
There you have it, don’t buy the hype, follow these guidelines and for the most part you should understand where you stand with your company.
